SlingStudio is the industry’s first portable, wireless multi-camera video production and livestream platform. With SlingStudio, church professionals can monitor, record, switch, edit and stream live HD-quality video wirelessly to Facebook, YouTube, Twitch, Livestream and other RTMP destinations, as well as record it for future use. It allows church film and video teams to expand their video program beyond the sanctuary.

For streaming a live service or recording a sermon, SlingStudio makes videos more dynamic by capturing multiple angles of the speaker, the choir, the congregation and more. Users can connect up to 10 video sources, including DSLR cameras, video cameras, smartphones and drone systems, to a single SlingStudio hub via HDMI or CameraLink wireless adapters.

Best of all, it helps churches do it themselves, without the need for a big budget. With its easy-to-use interface, volunteer and professional video team members will be up and running quickly. It is also extremely portable – essentially a production truck in a backpack. At just under 3 lbs., SlingStudio is battery-operated, requires no cables, and can be used almost anywhere with wireless cameras.

Before SlingStudio, multi-camera setups cost thousands of dollars ($5,000 at a market entry point) and required highly specialized talent and cumbersome equipment to manage and execute video production, making adoption difficult for small and medium churches. Now, the SlingStudio unit and CameraLink have made sophisticated video production and live streaming accessible to churches by bringing the cost of these tools to an unmatched price point ($999 and $349 respectively). With its affordable price and easy-to-use apps, SlingStudio changes how content creators within houses of worship can think about producing video.

From setup, to the shoot, to post-production, SlingStudio simplifies all aspects of multi-camera video.

Details include:

• Setup: Capture video from different angles by wirelessly connecting up to 10 video sources (DSLR cameras, video cameras, smartphones, etc.) to a single SlingStudio using its private, video-grade Wi-Fi network; Internet connectivity is only required for live broadcasting. Elimination of cables dramatically reduces setup time, and allows for cameras to be placed anywhere (within 300 feet of the SlingStudio hub) and easily moved as they are wireless.

• HDMI-enabled DSLR and video cameras connect via SlingStudio’s CameraLink wireless adapter (sold separately) or to SlingStudio’s HDMI input port. Smartphones using iOS and Android operating systems directly connect to SlingStudio wirelessly through the Capture app available for free download in the Apple App Store and Google Play Store; no CameraLink needed.

• Production: The iPad Console app is required to manage video production with SlingStudio. It allows directors to monitor and create live-to-tape video from up to four (out of a maximum of 10 connected) input sources simultaneously, and drag and drop video into a composition window. Here directors can create dynamic video compositions like picture-in-picture, split and quad views; edit in popular transitions like cut, dissolve and wipe; add text overlays and lower thirds; and monitor and mix audio. All of this can be done in real time as live video is streamed to platforms like Facebook, YouTube, Twitch, Livestream and other RTMP destinations, and simultaneously recorded to a USB 3.0 hard drive, USB SSD or SD card for post-production. External audio sources, audio mixers and output monitors can also connect to SlingStudio for advanced production needs.

• Post-production: Individual recordings from each camera feed, plus the live-switched video and audio line-in, are saved in a single storage location, eliminating the need to wrangle and import multiple storage drives from each camera. With just a couple clicks of the mouse, the entire project file can then be easily imported into editing applications like Adobe® Premiere® Pro CC and Apple Final Cut Pro® X.

• SlingStudio’s affordability also heightens its appeal.

The SlingStudio Hub is $999.99 and its additional components include:

• Battery ($149.00): With up to three hours of battery life, the SlingStudio Battery enables producers to use SlingStudio without a cord, making on-the-go recording easier than ever.

• CameraLink ($349.00): The CameraLink enables producers to wirelessly connect a camera to SlingStudio. Producers can use an HDMI camera or camcorder to wirelessly send video to SlingStudio. The CameraLink gives users professional quality content by sending up to 1080p60 video at up to 30 Mbps using H.264 encoding.

• USB-C Expander ($49.00): The USB-C Expander supports wired Ethernet connectivity for live broadcasting and connects to USB 3.0 hard drives and SSD Drives for alternative recording media.

Overall, SlingStudio’s technical features and key benefits of simplicity, quality and affordability make it a revolutionary product for worship needs. Its ease of use, time-saving measures and lack of complicated equipment enable producers of all skill levels to have the ultimate freedom to shoot high-quality video and edit content with the option of livestreaming.
